The Drudge Report, with a typical far-leftist "news" media twist of what happened, brays that "27% OF REPUBLICAN VOTERS AGAINST MCCAIN IN NORTH CAROLINA...". Evidently enjoying the cheap thrill of denigrating a Republican, he underlines that with a second headline, immediately below the first, "23% GO AGAINST MCCAIN IN INDIANA...".
Drudge then nails his obvious bias with a third head, located in line with the first two, "REPUBLICANS ON HILL SHELLSHOCKED AND BROKE...", clearly suggesting that their problem is McCain.
This house of cards is easily blown away by going to the websites themselves. The first two are pages of ABC NEWS. Both just show the Republican Primary Results in the two states that just voted.
The first, "27% OF REPUBLICAN VOTERS AGAINST MCCAIN IN NORTH CAROLINA..." reads:
Candidate votes %
McCain 381,138 73%
Huckabee 62,917 12%
Paul 40,275 8%
No
Preference 20,305 4
The second, "23% GO AGAINST MCCAIN IN INDIANA..." tells us:
McCain 318,374 77%
Huckabee 41,063 10%
Paul 31,557 8%
Romney 19,507 5%
Oh My GOODNESS! McCain was the clear winner in NC, and did even better in Indiana. And the article on the "Shell-shocked Republicans on the Hill", does not even mention McCain. Rather, it tells of their fear that their party's lack of a clear message of necessary change will cost them seats in the next election. Being typical Washington politicians, this is all they care about.
So...contrary to the impression Drudge sweated over, McCain looks pretty good. If any of the hard line (meaning "hard-headed") Republicans who have threatened to vote Democratic in this fall's election to show their disdain for the more centrist McCain, will get what they truly deserve, "President Barack H.Obama." Unfortunately, millions of decent Americans will suffer the same fate.
