Once again the once proud New York Times demonstrated how low it will stoop to hurt our President. In a current effort it continues to augment genuine hard news with their leftist opinions.
The subject spew supports the Democrat's view that now President Bush has too much authority to "spy on Americans." Not wanting to admit that the new legislation might help win the war against the thugs who would happily slaughter all Americans, they whine that, "lawmakers, in a frenetic, end-of-session scramble, passed legislation they may not have fully understood and may have given the administration more surveillance powers than it sought."
The article starts out, "Broad new surveillance powers approved by Congress this month could allow the Bush administration to conduct spy operations that go well beyond...", etc, etc, etc.
Oh my, can't you just see President Bush in the Oval office, lustily devouring YOUR phone calls?
Come on!
Remembering collecting metal junk as a kid in WW2, I as an American will gladly give up something of mine if it will help win this terrible war. If allowing intelligence professionals to monitor my emails and palid phone calls will serve that purpose, GO TO IT!
